Pelosi Street

6 comments:

  1. The single distinguishing feature of paleo-conservatives: no sense of humor. But it goes with their incompetence in every other area, too, so why should we be surprised?

  2. The cartoon presses all the right buttons, so to speak. It aims to portray Pelosi as a rigid ideologue who turns left at every opportunity. Ironically, this is a projection: the phrase "no left turns" is a well-worn self-description of conservative Republicans. So they merely flip the idea around and accuse Pelosi of what they themselves do. Ho-hum.

That's not a portrayal. That's what she is. Brilliant cartoon.

  3. Everyone who is not brain dead is an 'ideologue'. The cartoon reflects the unthinking blinkered nature of Pelosi's personal ideology. She can't even imagine that we have serious objections to her policies.

Is it funny? Somewhat, though I don't think that the point of political cartoons is to be 'funny'. It is descriptive, and judging it on that criterion it is well done.

    1. That's because, judging by the hilariously stupid posts on this blog, you don't. In reality the cartoon represents yet another sad example of the hypocritical projection that is symptomatic of the average conservo-sociopath's mind. It's hilarious when those who would like to strip their fellow citizens' liberties down to only those deemed appropriate by the bigoted Xtian majority try to pretend that we Progressives - historically the only true defenders of liberty by definition and action - are guilty of the same sort of narrow minded fear of modernity that they are.
